If you don’t know whether your dog’s accessories will fit before you start choosing them, putting together an ensemble of Hound and Soul accessories can be a daunting task. Never fear, we’re here to help with this ultimate guide to choosing your dog’s accessories!
First things first: measure your dog.

To make sure the Hound and Soul dog accessory fits your dog, there are only two measurements you’ll need to take.
Neck – Take a measurement of the widest part of the base of your dog’s neck.
Chest – Take a measurement around your dog’s body, just behind their front legs.
NOTE: When measuring each area, you should include the placement of two fingers flat between the measuring tape and your dog as you measure. As well as making your dog more comfortable, the extra space also ensures their safety if they get caught or twisted up, which is a common occurrence with any enthusiastic pupper.

After selecting your accessories, you’ll need to pick a size. The size guides are included on every product page, but we’ve also compiled them here to make it easier for you.
When choosing, keep these three things in mind:
Every dog is different, and our size guide reflects that. A small collar may fit a small dog, but that doesn’t mean a small reversible harness will fit. Always consider the size guide for each item type individually.
There are differences between brands in size. All Hound and Soul accessories are designed to the same measurements, but sizes vary from one item to another. Even if you know your dog is wearing an XXS collar and XS harness from another company, it doesn’t mean they’ll need the same size when changing to ours.
Remeasurement is always recommended.

Dog bandanas are available in three sizes and tie around the neck. Make sure to hold the measuring tape between two fingers and your dog’s head to prevent it from being too tight on your pup.
